Strengths: Compact size. Simple and easy to use.
Weakness: Cheaply made FOR Nikon, not BY Nikon.
I bought one of these to use as a backup for my FM2. I only ran 4 or 5 rolls of film through it, when the film advance started to fail. It wouldn't advance the film all the way for the next exposure, resulting in overlapping frames. The camera was already out of warranty by then, and wasn't worth repairing. I was later told by a camera salesman that this camera isn't actually made by Nikon. They have it made cheaply for them, and have their name put on it. The lack of quality really shows. My advice would be to find a used FM2 or one of the other quality Nikons instead of buying one of these.

TopNikon made a good product, but why would you spend that kind of money on 18th century technology. It's like buying a pocket Latin Dictionary for a trip to Rome. I can get one on Ebay for about $10. Film media is very quickly dying out. Spend that money on a decent digital camera.

GOOD
Strengths: Manual wind-rewind with multiple exposures possible Self-timer Fully manual single-lens reflex camera Includes 35 to 70mm Nikkor lens Film speeds down to 1/2000 second
i took a beginning b&w photo class in college this semester and this was the camera they had in the lab to lend out to people who didnt own a slr of their own. at first i was scared on how to use the thing, it seems complicated but its really not. once you get the hang of it, i loved it. its all manual which is great for control purposes. now that ive got some cash, im gonna buy the nikon fm10 slr for myself to use.
