Cuisinart GR-4 Griller - Cold Sandwiches No More -...

Strengths: Quality Unit - Built Well - Non Stick Surface is Very Good - Easy To Clean Up

Weakness: Requires Caution With The Drip Cups

Our family has use the grill for over a month and it stays out on the counter all the time. Sandwiches were first with various types of bread and rolls. Wheat rolls are actually perfect now as they stand up to the toasting much better than the white versions. Cold Sandwiches no more We have gone Panini :).
Meats cook well, Bacon is simple and we learned to turn down the heat to slow the process a bit. Lean Center Cut Pork Chop s, Burgers, Hot Dogs,Sausage, Thin Chicken Cutlets all cook easily with minimal oil needed.
Clean Up is easy as the cooking plates come right out and so far nothing has proved to difficult to clean off of them with just soap and water.

Cuisinart GR-4 Griddler

Strengths: Heavy, durable, versatile, even cooking, and easy cleanup

Weakness: None

I purchased the Griddler for my mother. She wanted it in order to roast vegetables, something she could only do on the grill thus far which was more work than it was worth. The Griddler opens to form a flat surface unlike many other indoor grillers such as the George Foreman. By opening fully it is able to cook pancakes, eggs, vegtables, and countless other foods. Along with opening flat the griddler also does a great job cooking meats by closing the lid, and Panini's which I have not tried making yet but am extremely excited to try. Thus far the Griddler has been a terrific purchase, my mother loves its versatility and ease of use. I highly recommend this product for any one who enjoys cooking.

Griddler GR-4

Strengths: Multi-functional and heats up/cooks faster than the traditional stove top oven.

Weakness: It's not slightly tilted which would allow grease to drip more easily.

I've made fish, sandwiches, pancakes, and chicken on this nifty kitchen gadget. I'm still trying to figure out what the difference is between the griddle vs the grill knobs--both seem to accomplish the same goal. The instruction booklet also doubles as a recipe book with ideas for paninis, pork chops, sausage, french toast, etc. If you're a George Foreman fan, you can use those same recipes for the Griddler as well. Also I've put the griddle and grill plates through the dishwasher with no problem.

Cuisinart GR-4 sent my George to the rummage sale.

Strengths: Clean up is quick and easy, cooks fast and even. Works like a bacon press.

Weakness: The drip cup can be bumped out of place easily.

I have been considering buying the GR-4 for a year. I hesitated because of the price, now that I have I wish I hadn't waited so long. I instantly fell in love with it. You hate to spend that much on an appliance and it ends up in the back of the pantry. Some of my other concerns proved not to be a problem at all. I was concerned that the cooking bed is not as angled as the George and was worried that the grease would pool instead of running away. I cooked bacon and the fat ran into the cup just fine except I bumped the cup after removing the bacon and a bit ended up on the counter. I'll learn. The bacon cooked up great! Like a bacon press! On the George bacon is so thin The top didn't make contact, I would have to flip the bacon while cooking. The drip cups look small but don't worry, I measured the amount the cups hold compared to the George drip tray and they hold the same amount. My other concern was the size. I don't have a lot of counter space. I found the GR-4 doesn't take up any more room than the George but I have gained cooking area. I like the tempture control. Chicken breast turned out moist and juicy. Clean up is a breeze!!! The George usually was a 10 minute job. Bye! Bye! George.

Cuisinart GR-4 Griddler

Strengths: Quick and easy to use, easy to clean removable plates - most times it stays clean while you cook anyway so you can just wipe it after it cools

Weakness: Yet another thing to find storage space for in the kitchen, would help if the cord was longer.

I bought the Griddler a month ago for my husband's birthday. He had wanted a griddle, but after reading reviews online I decided to buy something that was more versatile and easier to clean. So far I like the Griddler a lot. I have used it about 8 times. I especially like making Paninis with it. I also use it a lot for Quesadillas, but my husband still sticks to using a pan on the stove for that because you have to have the motivation to get the griddler out and put the correct plates in it. I can't wait to use it to do indoor grilling in the winter. I found it cheapest at Linens N Things and Bed Bath and Beyond because you can use your 20% off coupon.

Griddler knocks out the Foreman Grill

Strengths: Versatile, Dual-thermostat for Grill and Panini, great looks, SUPER EASY to Clean!

Weakness: Drip cups to catch fat/oil can easily be bumped

My wife and I have had the Cuisinart Griddler for just one weekend, but we used it 3 times already! We've cooked burgers, bbq, and grilled panini sandwiches. And it all tastes so good. We are totally in love with this machine. Clean up is so easy and dirt washes right off.

My only complaint is that you have to place drip cups to catch the fat and the cups can easily be bumped. Just be careful not to bump the cups and you'll be fine. I highly recommend this product!

Cuisinart GR-4 Griddler

Strengths: Removable grill tops and hinged lid

Weakness: lip on the edge is too low

This is the best kitchen top grill that I have found and the price is very reasonable. The best things about this grill is the removable burning surfaces which make cleanup a breeze. The hinged lid also makes cooking thick cuts of meats or burgers a breeze. I am very happy with my purchase.

Loved it; bought 2 more

Strengths: Little smoke, if any; easy clean up, fun to use

Weakness: none

My husband and I bought one, loved it and bought two more for our son and daughter and their families. Grilled three good-sized strip steaks at once and there was virtually no smoke. I use a wooden chopstick to poke up the cheese bits after panninis have cooked while the grill is still hot. After turning it off, I set a timer for the 30 minutes it needs to cool down then put the grill plates in the sink, let them soak a few minutes then scrub with a dish brush -- everything comes off beautifully. I keep it on a cookie sheet so it slides easily across my countertop because I use it nearly every day.

Cuisinart GR-4 Griller Four Multifuctional Cooking...

Strengths: I owned a two burner grill/griddle until I dropped it> It broke into two pieces. The Cuisinart is every bit as large when opened up. I now have a teflon finish, nice. Heats up very quickly.

Weakness: NONE

I wish I had known about this product before. Will buy another for Christmas present. Great for hambergers and panini, that's all I have used it for so far.

Cuisinart GR-4 Griddler with multiffunction cooking...

Strengths: Relatively compact, well designed upscale product. For cooking power, it has the highest wattage in its class. Superior 3 year warranty. This combo makes makes the pricey product, good value overall.

Weakness: Pricier and the countertop footprint / shelve space when not in use given it can't be stored out of the way on-end like the neat TFAL contact grill (if you don't require a smooth pancake griddle).

Head-to-head, the Cuisinart is comparable in price, size and power with the George Foreman G5 Next Grilleration Grill Waffler Griddle, but with 1500 Watt power the GR-4 exceeds the G5 by about 50 Watts. The no-chip stainless versus enamel finish is a plus for the Cuisinart. Its 3-year warranty far exceeds the competition's warranties. For max flexibility, it lacks the waffle griddle of the G5; but then where are you going to store all the removeable cooking surfaces when not installed without scratching the no-stick surfaces. At 425 degrees, the heating control tops out higher than the 400 degres for some of the competition.

Best appliance I've ever had!

Strengths: Looks great on countertop, cleans easily, grill plates easy to remove.

Weakness: None, but wish there were more receipes in the instruction book.

I've had the Cuisinart GR-4 for over a year and love it! Even used it on a car trip with family visitors when we stayed at a timeshare without full kitchen. Easy to transport, so easy to clean, does a great job at cooking just about anything. Have done everything from eggs to sandwiches to steaks. The ability to use the grill flat is a plus when there are extra people. I do not consider the fat cups a problem. I keep the grill in the corner of my counter on a soft placemat and just pull it out to use. Sometimes, especially when cooking steaks, I put it on my stovetop so I can use the stove fan.

Great Panini Sandwiches!

Strengths: ease of use/cleaning

Weakness: cost, time to heat, consistency of heat

We have had this griddler for a couple of weeks and have primarily used it for panini sandwiches and grilling vegetables.
We've had a good experience with it and are keeping it. The sandwiches come out tasting very good-- the bread grills very well. My only complaints would be the amount of time it takes to heat up (several minutes) and the fact that it doesn't seem to heat evenly. (When grilling vegetable slices/pieces on it, the ones on the edges of the grill don't cook as well as the ones in the middle.)
Finally, I would say it's a fairly pricey appliance.

It is not only a grill

Strengths: non-stick grill plates, multifunctional, large open grill

Weakness: high price

This grill is multifunctional with its non-stick grill plates (double surface-removable). If you like pannini, this is the best griddle on the market. Easy to clean (wiped off with no effort). Cooks fast (various level of cooking). I highly recommend it.
